Introducing Aura - the Desk Lamp for the Modern Professional

For my senior capstone, our group created Aura. A two-in-one desk lamp that offers desk lighting and video lighting for Zoom. Our product was created for the COVID-age of video calling, so you can look and perform at your best, whether working from home or calling with family. My role in the team was engineering and research. I was responsible for material selection and engineering failure analysis. I also did research and selection for the LEDs as well.

Brain Modeling - Creating a Gelatin Brain Model for Special Surgery

Our group created a gelatin brain model designed for surgeons to practice shunt surgery. This brain was modeled after a brain with hydrocephalus. I was tasked with finding and ordering different gelatins. I also tested their stiffness's on a rheometer and made the decision on which gelatins provided the most accurate stiffness. This testing was vital for us to create a model with stiffness's proportional to that of a brain with hydrocephalus.

Robot Car - Creating a Remote Controlled Car with Autonomous Functionality

At Stanford, I took a course in electronics where I built a hand-sized robot car. I soldered, and designed the circuit board. I did all the coding in Arduino. The car had many functions. It could stop at a red light and go at a green light. It had autonomous functionality where it could move and avoid walls. I could control it with my phone using Bluetooth. I could simply tilt my phone in the direction I wanted it to move.
